Lisa Timmerman is an award winning Leicestershire based artist, working from her studio in Foxton near Market Harborough, England.
Lisa trained at Loughborough & Bristol Colleges of art & worked as a designer in the fashion industry in London & East Asia for many years before setting up her art studio in Leicestershire in 2011.

Lisa says:

"Painting is always on my mind. The process of mixing colour, finding different tools to apply it to the surface, the unpredictability of the marks made, it is totally absorbing for me. It keeps me very much in the present moment, my mind free & flowing and remains full of surprises.
Often I feel my paintings almost paint themselves but when I look at my work I see so many parallels which reflect my thoughts & feelings about my life. My koi fish are all little personalities, some powering through the turbulence, others hunkering down in the muffled silence of the water."

Lisa’s koi fish paintings have won her several awards, including the ‘Princess Michael of Kent Award’ at the Mall Galleries ‘Society of Women Artists’ exhibition. Her koi paintings also sold at the ‘Royal Society of British Artists’ annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London.

During the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020, Lisa painted 21 oil portraits as gifts for NHS Heroes, prints of which now hang along the corridor of Leicester's Royal Infirmary. This also meant being interviewed on the BBC news and Leicester Radio.
Lisa's work is all on this website and owned across the UK, in The Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy. She is also represented by The Rutland Gallery, British Contemporary Art, and Cotswold Contemporary.
