Portraits for NHS Heroes
#Portraitsfornhsheroes is an initiative instigated by Oxford based portrait painter, Tom Croft.
It connects artists, through social media, with NHS workers, their family or close friend, during the Covid-19 pandemic, to enable an artist to paint their portrait as a gift to them.

During the pandemic lockdown I have thrived on the opportunity to gift a portrait to these NHS heroes, to get to know a little about their lives and experience of this terrible disease. I have been led by them as to what sort of portrait they want and I have been honoured to share their stories on my Instagram & Facebook feed. This is an ongoing project that I am proud to be involved with.
It has been uplifting to be able to do something for them to show our gratitude and an experience I will never forget.
